RIZA is the Founder and Managing Partner of BRAVA & RIZA advocates. With over 16 years of legal experience, he is widely respected for his depth of knowledge and strategic acumen in litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution. He has built a distinguished career by representing clients in a broad spectrum of complex legal matters, ranging from high-stakes commercial disputes to regulatory litigation and white-collar crime defense.

Riza began his legal career under the mentorship of the late Prof. Dr. (Iur) Adnan Buyung Nasution, S.H., Indonesia's most prominent legal figure and widely regarded as the founding father of Indonesian Lawyers.​

As a disciple of Prof. Nasution, Riza was instilled with a deep commitment to justice, ethical advocacy, and fearless litigation principles that continue to guide his professional journey. This formative mentorship shaped his approach to litigation and continues to inform his professional values to this day. During his tenure at Prof. Nasution's law firm, he was entrusted with numerous landmark cases and gained firsthand experience in managing complex, high-stakes disputes.

Riza earned his law degree from the University of Indonesia, one of the nation's most prestigious academic institutions, and has completed further training in both domestic and international dispute resolution. AT BRAVA & RIZA Advocates, he leads the firm's strategic direction and ensures that every client receives personalized, result-driven legal representation rooted in professionalism and integrity.

For more than 16 years of his professional career, Riza has managed to maintain a success rate of more than 90% in handling various litigation cases in domestic court, arbitration, and international arbitration. In March 2021, Asian Legal Business released a list of 24 'Indonesia Rising Star' lawyers achieving results for their clients and setting high standards in the Indonesian legal space. Riza was named among them as a specialist in commercial litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution who has handled projects and cases and has a high success rate.

In 2022 and 2023, the Legal 500, the world's leading legal directory, issued The Legal 500 Asia Pacific law firm ranking directory Asia Pacific region. Riza was named 'the Legal 500 Asia Pacific: Recommended Lawyer 2023' and 'the Legal 500 Asia Pacific: Recommended Lawyer 2022' for Indonesia's jurisdiction in Dispute Resolution.

Some notable projects he had involved in include:

 

i) assisting an Employee of the Indonesian Directorate General of Taxes at the Police Force of the Republic of Indonesia and District Court of South Jakarta with regard to a white-collar case totaling in the amount of more than IDR 100 billion;

 

ii) acting for PT Danamon International in District Court up to Supreme Court concerning the default on the capital loan agreement with claims totaling over IDR 500 billion;

 

iii) acting for international companies in international arbitration under the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) concerning the default of sales & purchase of shares worth more than USD 185 million;

 

iv) assisting the Indonesian largest dredging company in contract negotiation for the Tangguh LNG Project of BP Berau Ltd, worth around IDR 100 billion;

 

v) assisting the largest cement company in Sumatra - Indonesia, related to its largest cement factory construction matters;

 

vi)  assisting the Indonesian business practitioner at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and Corruption Court at the District Court of Central Jakarta with regard to the bribery case of the Director-General of Sea Transportation; and

 

vii) assisting many Indonesian private clients, individuals, and families related to their business, investment, family matters, and philanthropic activities.

 

Beyond his practice, Riza remains active in legal education and mentorship, regularly speaking at forums and guiding young lawyers to uphold the ideals of principled, courageous advocacy that he inherited from his early training.
